Hula: A total of 245 million kwanzas was generated during the 22nd Livestock Fair held in Angola’s southern Hula Province, concluding with the sale of 601 animals organized into 110 lots.
According to Angola Press News Agency, the previous edition, held in 2025, generated 189.5 million kwanzas from the sale of 550 animals. This year’s result, therefore, represented an increase of 55.7 million kwanzas, equivalent to 29.4 percent.
The event, organized by the Southern Livestock Breeders Cooperative (CCGSA) as part of the Our Lady of the Mount festivities, brought together breeders and exhibitors from different parts of the country. A total of 24 farms participated, displaying animals of various species. The Livestock Fair spokesperson, Victor Panzo, told ANGOP on Sunday that 601 animals were made available to buyers, including cattle, goats, sheep, pigs, poultry, and horses.
The animals were grouped into 110 lots for auction, enabling breeders to generate revenues exceeding 200 million kwanzas. Victor Panzo described the outcome as positive, citing the strong participation of breeders and buyers. Beyond the auction itself, the fair recorded an overall business volume valued at 1.2 billion kwanzas, compared with 1 billion kwanzas at the previous edition. According to him, the figure represents growth of 20 percent, corresponding to an increase of 200 million kwanzas compared with the business volume recorded the previous year.
He also highlighted the greater diversity of products on display at this year’s Livestock Fair. Among the new attractions were Cosal vehicles and agricultural machinery, which complemented the products traditionally associated with livestock farming. The broader range of exhibits expanded the fair’s offerings and enabled the participation of new economic operators linked to the agricultural and livestock sectors.
The 22nd edition of the Livestock Fair was attended by the National Federation of Livestock Cooperatives of Angola (FENACOOPA) and supported by the Government of Hula Province. The event serves as a platform for promoting livestock production, animal trading, and closer interaction between breeders, business operators, and consumers, contributing to the dynamization of the local economy.
