Lunda Norte Governor Highlights Improvements in Access Roads

Lunda: Filomena Miza, the governor of Lunda Norte, said that improving transport links by rehabilitating and building primary and secondary roads offers greater safety to users and connects municipalities, making it one of the greatest gains of national independence. According to Angola Press News Agency, the governor emphasized that the province's road network improved significantly in recent years, although investment is still needed to ensure accessibility throughout the territory. The local government is working with the relevant ministries to mobilise resources for the upgrading of access roads in the centre and outskirts of the city of Dundo, covering a distance of 80 kilometres, Cafunfo (50 kilometres) Luzamba (25 kilometres), Calonda, including the section connecting the municipal headquarters of Lucapa (30 kilometres); Nzagi (30 kilometres), Cassanguidi (25 kilometres) and Lucapa (40 kilometres). The province of Lunda Norte has an estimated population of 1,153,060 inhabitants spread across 19 muni cipalities. These municipalities include Dundo, Chitato, Mussungue, Cambulo, Cuango, Caungula, Camaxilo, Cafunfu, Canzar, Cassanje Calucala, Capenda-Camulemba, Cuilo, Lóvua, Lucapa, Luangue, Lubalo, Loremo, Xá-Cassau, and Xá-Muteba.
