Rimini: Independent and associated Angolan agricultural producers, represented by Fazenda Apol³nia, and businesspeople from the sector participated in the 42nd Edition of Macfrut, Italy's main international fruit and vegetable fair, which took place from the 21st to the 23rd of the current month in this European country.
According to Angola Press News Agency, the Angolan delegation, which brought together more than 1,400 exhibitors at the Rimini Expo Centre, was coordinated by the Agricultural Development Support Fund (FADA). In a press release, the Angolan Embassy in Italy reported that the fair focused on mangoes and avocados, products that the country has the potential to export.
Innovation, sector trends, and business meetings were also highlighted, consolidating the show as a global benchmark in the fruit and vegetable sector. According to FADA's Business Administrator, Renato Baptista, quoted in the note, the event was an opportunity for Angolan producers and entrepreneurs to showcase their products, establish partnerships to boost business, seek knowledge to improve the quality of their production, and position Angola as a potential exporter of tropical fruits.
For three days, Macfrut 2026 hosted conferences and thematic panels with discussions on Product Quality Certification, Technology and Agriculture, particularly the Use of Artificial Intelligence in Agriculture. In the discussions, researchers and investigators drew attention to the fact that investments in agricultural research have led to the development of advanced technologies, such as autonomous machines, robots, and software, which surpass human capabilities in agricultural tasks, reducing waste and generating greater productivity and economic cost management.
