Media minister highlights corruption fight and impunity to improve business environment

The minister of Telecommunications, Information Technology and Media, Mário Oliveira, highlighted Friday in Berlin, Germany, the fight against corruption and impunity promoted by the Angolan government, as part of the process of improving the business environment in Angola.

According to the minister, who was speaking at the 16th edition of the Africa Global Business Summit, Germany 2023, the Angolan government has started a series of reforms to consolidate the democracy and rule of law, as well as modernizing public administration, with a focus on the quality of spending and facilitating a better business environment.

Mário Oliveira made mention of the reforms initiated in 2017 aimed at strengthening the economy and fiscal policy, as well as the main agricultural products and where they are produced, highlighting the strong production of bananas, potatoes, citrus and cassava.

Over two days, more than 100 guests, including members of governments, ambassadors, policymakers, investors, and CEOs of African and international companies, spoke on how digital transformation is shaping Africa’s future, renewable energy and how investment in the energy sector will change Africa’s economies, agribusiness revolution, value chain and investment, as well as infrastructure, construction, real estate, and smart city, as well as health, focused on the impact of technology and economies of scale.

Angola attended the event with a delegation headed by the minister of Telecommunications, Information Technology and Media, Mário de Oliveira, which includes the CEO of the Private Investment and Export Promotion Agency (AIPEX) and the Chairman of Angola Cables, directors of SONANGOL and technicians of the institutions represented.

The Africa Business Summit Forum, which this year highlighted Angola and Rwanda, had the Embassy of Angola in Germany as one of the organizers of the Award Gala.
