Minister Highlights Sport as a Tool for Overcoming Obstacles and Social Inclusion

Luanda: The Minister of Social Action, Family, and Women's Promotion (MASFAMU), Ana Paula do Sacramento Neto, emphasized the importance of promoting sports within communities, asserting that they play a crucial role in the physical, emotional, and social development of children and adolescents.

According to Angola Press News Agency, the minister made these remarks during the launch of a campaign aimed at "Raising Awareness and Social Awareness Against Teen Pregnancy and Teen Marriage." The event gathered various government entities and civil society organizations to address these pressing issues.

The minister highlighted sports as an effective tool for overcoming challenges, engaging free time constructively, and encouraging healthy lifestyles alongside patriotic education. She advocated for these initiatives to be implemented across all community spaces, with a focus on the most vulnerable regions.

Ana Paula do Sacramento Neto also underlined the importance of combating the exploitation and violation of children's rights, specifically pointing out concerns such as pregnancy, early marriage, rape, and child prostitution. She described these practices as significant human rights violations that disrupt children's education and compromise their physical and mental well-being.

The minister urged children and young individuals to remain vigilant against warning signs and to report any form of abuse or suspicious behavior. "True transformation begins at home, through dialogue between parents and children, in schools with teachers, and also in sports with coaches and monitors," she stressed.
