Lubango: At least thirty exhibitors, primarily women, have been participating since Thursday in a Social and Educational Fair in the city of Lubango, located in the southern Hula Province. This initiative, promoted by the Miss Angola Universe Committee, aims to foster female entrepreneurship and enhance local tourism.
According to Angola Press News Agency, the event, which will continue until December 2nd, is designed to highlight the talent, creativity, and transformative role of women in entrepreneurship. It also seeks to showcase the tourism potential of the province. The fair features a variety of products, including baker's items, cold cuts, floriculture, and various handicrafts. Additionally, clothing, footwear, cosmetics, and offerings from a publishing house are on display.
Leila Lopes, president of the Miss Angola Universe Committee, emphasized the importance of the event, noting that it features mainly young women with innovative ideas who sometimes need encouragement to promote their businesses. She stated, "Entrepreneurship in Hula is proof that the youth are very strong, determined, and willing to grow and prove that we Angolans are capable of making products for national consumption using our own raw materials."
Lopes extended an invitation to the public to visit the fair, encouraging people to learn more about the locally produced goods in Hula and support national entrepreneurship, particularly initiatives at the local level. The event forms part of the social responsibility mission of the Miss Angola Universe Committee.
