Luanda:Minister of Foreign Affairs Téte António held a meeting with Miss International Zimbabwe 2024, Yollanda Chimbarami, to explore cooperation and business opportunities between Angola and Zimbabwe. The meeting took place in Luanda on Monday.
According to Angola Press News Agency, the meeting also introduced the new Miss Angola International 2026, Catarina Alves, who won the title at a gala event on September 27 in Luanda. Yollanda Chimbarami, on her first visit to Angola, was accompanied by Teresa António Sara, Miss Angola International 2023-2024.
Yollanda Chimbarami holds multiple titles, including Miss Africa International 2025 and First Runner-up of Miss International 2025. Her visit was in response to an invitation from the Miss Angola International Organization to attend the Miss Angola International 2026 Gala, featuring contestants from various provinces.
Catarina Alves, representing Icolo e Bengo, was crowned as Miss Angola International 2026 at the ceremony. She will represent Angola at the upcoming Miss International pageant in Japan this November, providing an opportunity to showcase Angola's cultural diversity.
The Miss International pageant, held annually in Japan since 1960, encourages cultural exchange, friendship, and understanding among participants from different countries. Contestants are evaluated on various attributes, including communication skills, intelligence, and their ability to represent their country's culture and identity.
