Naval Group Announces Initiative to Boost Angolan Agriculture

Luanda:Naval Group has unveiled a new purchasing strategy during the Agritech Show Luanda 2026, positioning itself as a primary national buyer for Angolan grain and edible oil producers.

According to Angola Press News Agency, the company revealed this initiative at the four-day agribusiness trade fair held from October 1 to 4 at Fazenda da Quiminha in the Icolo e Bengo province. The event attracted more than 60 exhibitors and approximately 5,000 professionals from the sector.

The strategy involves Naval Group becoming a key industrial partner for commercial growers, agricultural cooperatives, and small family farms. Their processing facilities will ensure a consistent demand for locally grown raw materials, offering medium- and long-term supply contracts to provide steady market access.

The focus of their procurement efforts includes essential agricultural commodities such as wheat, corn, rice, soybeans, and crude palm oil. "The producer needs more than just a buyer—they need a partner that guarantees a market," stated Hélder Caetano, a director at Naval Group. "Our commitment is to process national production in our factories, reduce reliance on imports, and contribute to a more sustainable value chain in Angola."

This strategy aligns with Angola's broader national efforts to accelerate import substitution and enhance local manufacturing capabilities in the agricultural sector. Naval Group is an Angolan conglomerate with diverse holdings aimed at expanding domestic production capacity and fostering local value creation.
