Luanda: The government of the eastern Moxico province reaffirmed on Friday the commitment to strengthen public policies for women's empowerment, through coordination between different social sectors.
According to Angola Press News Agency, the guarantee was given by the Vice-Governor of Moxico for Technical Services and Infrastructure, Wilson Augusto, during the provincial closing ceremony of the celebrations of African Women's Day, celebrated on July 31.
The deputy governor emphasized that integration between different sectors is fundamental to respond to the challenges faced by women, considering that these difficulties are interconnected and require coordinated solutions.
Wilson Augusto added that sustainable development depends on the empowerment of women, with greater access to knowledge, means of production, financing, technologies, and decision-making spaces.
The governor highlighted that the motto "Women's Action for Safe Sanitation, Peaceful Communities and Better Living Conditions" reflects the crucial role of women in promoting public health, social stability, and economic development in communities.
African Women's Day is celebrated on July 31, 1962, established at the Conference of African Women in Dar-Es-Salaam, Tanzania.
