MPLA analyses document for participation in general elections

Luanda – The draft document on the participation of the ruling MPLA in the 5th General Elections, to be held soon in the country, was analysed Monday, by the Secretariat of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of that party.

The appraisal of the document took place during the 6th Ordinary Meeting, chaired by the MPLA Vice President, Luísa Damião, according to the final communiqué of the session.

The meeting participants also appraised the draft resolutions on the candidacy of the MPLA President for the post of President of the Republic of Angola, as well as on the List of Candidates for Members of the National Assembly.

In the meeting carried through in the Tourist Complex of Futungo II, in Luanda, it was equally in appreciation the preliminary project on the Interruption of the Mandate of some members of the Central Committee indicated for the exercise of functions in the State incompatible with the party activity.

During the meeting, the Secretariat of the Political Bureau also appraised, the addendum to the Annual Plan of Activities and to the Plan of Events of MPLA for 2022 and the Report of Balance of the National Preparatory Commission of the VIII Ordinary Congress of MPLA.

The document highlights the re-election of the President of MPLA, João Lourenço, with 98.04 percent of the votes.
