Luanda: The first provincial secretary of the MPLA in Bi©, Celeste Adolfo, has called for heightened citizen mobilization to update voter registration details at the Single Public Service Desk (BUAP). This appeal was made during her opening speech at the 10th ordinary meeting of the party's provincial committee, which also focused on analyzing the organization's internal affairs.
According to Angola Press News Agency, Celeste Adolfo emphasized the necessity of preparing for the upcoming election in 2027 by ensuring that all citizens over the age of 18 complete the initial step of their democratic participation. This involves updating their electoral data. She urged party members to become agents of awareness and mobilization to meet the objectives set for the electoral registration and proof of life phase.
Since the commencement of the process in June this year, over 60,000 adult citizens have registered to vote and provided proof of life. The province of Bi© currently has 20 out of the 39 planned One-Stop Public Service Desks operational to facilitate this process.
During the meeting, attendees are also set to review the executive committee's report covering February to June of this year, along with the activities conducted by the disciplinary, ethics, and audit committee from January to August 2026. Additionally, the event will discuss documents related to the thirteenth ordinary provincial conference, which aims to review and renew mandates.
