Luanda: The MPLA in the municipality of Dande is ramping up its efforts to enhance awareness among its members about participating in the Unified Political Action Units (BUAP) for unofficial voter registration. This initiative aims to ensure that all eligible voters are prepared for the upcoming electoral processes.
According to Angola Press News Agency, Joo Giordano Crist³vo, the 1st municipal secretary of the MPLA in Dande, spearheaded a field visit to the Kitonhe neighborhood on Wednesday. This visit follows previous outreach efforts in the neighborhoods of Cawango, Kijoo-Mendes, Mifuma, and Kixiquela, all part of a broader campaign encouraging citizens to engage with the Single Public Service Desk (BUAP).
At the conclusion of the event, Crist³vo urged citizens of voting age who have not yet updated their electoral data to visit the BUAP, emphasizing the simplicity and speed of the process. The campaign is not only aimed at increasing voter registration but also at motivating MPLA members in Dande to register, thereby organizing and expanding the party's database and facilitating the distribution of membership cards.
Crist³vo highlighted that the registration of militants is also a strategic move to prepare the MPLA structures in Dande for the electoral challenges anticipated in 2027. The unofficial voter registration update in Angola is scheduled to occur from June 15, 2026, to March 31, 2027, as part of the preparations for the general elections in Angola.
