MPLA leader returns to Luanda

Luanda – The President of the ruling MPLA, Joao Lourenço, arrived this afternoon, in the capital of the country (Luanda), from the province of Zaire, where he led a mass act, during which he addressed several issues of the socio-economic life of the country.

In Zaire province, President Lourenço also stressed the need for Angolans in general to do everything possible to give credibility to the elections scheduled for 24 August, and to stop questioning the process, for the sake of a common cause.

He also presented Esperança da Costa, the party’s candidate for vice-president, adding that the MPLA has always made a serious bet on women and young people, although it continues to work to achieve parity, which has already been achieved at the Central Committee level.

Among several actions, he also announced the construction of two satellite cities in Zaire province, to tackle the housing problem in the region, as well as the construction of the Soyo Oil Refinery, among other projects.
