Luanda: The Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the ruling MPLA has gathered for the second time in just four days under the leadership of party leader Joo Louren§o. The meeting aims to define strategies and align actions to address the current political and social context in the country.
According to Angola Press News Agency, the session, held at the party's national headquarters, was attended by MPLA Vice-Chair Mara Quiosa and other members of the Political Bureau Secretariat. The Political Bureau serves as the main permanent governing body of the MPLA, making strategic adjustments between Central Committee meetings.
The responsibilities of the 103-member Political Bureau include organizing the party's internal affairs, electing the Political Bureau Secretariat based on the party leader's proposal, and guiding and monitoring the execution of policy and cadre training plans. Additionally, the body oversees the implementation of the party's policies by the Executive.
