Lubango: The first municipal secretary of the MPLA in the municipality of Lubango, Augusto Cuanga, has urged party members to enhance their efforts in denouncing corruption, nepotism, and impunity. This call to action aims to foster greater transparency and unity within the party. According to Angola Press News Agency, Cuanga made this appeal during the public presentation of the convocation for the 9th Ordinary Congress of the MPLA, set to occur on December 9th and 10th in Luanda. He emphasized that the fight against corruption remains a continuous priority for the party and should be a collective commitment among all its members. Cuanga highlighted the importance of eradicating practices such as nepotism and impunity to bolster the MPLA's credibility with society. He noted that internal transparency would consolidate trust among party members and enhance the party's political actions. The 9th Ordinary Congress will provide an opportunity to assess the political, economic, and social performance of the ru ling party in Angola for the period of 2021-2026. Additionally, the congress will focus on renewing the party's organs and bodies to promote greater dynamism and effectiveness within its structures. Cuanga emphasized that the ongoing process is expected to reinforce discipline, ethics, and internal cohesion within the party. He stressed that the active participation of militants is crucial to ensuring the success of the congress and the achievement of its objectives. The congress will be held under the theme "Commitment to the People, Confidence in the Future," and it is expected to outline the main political and strategic directions for the party in the upcoming years.
