M¡rio Oliveira Considers Angotic 2026 a World-Renowned Technology Event

Luanda: The Minister of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication, M¡rio Oliveira, on Monday said that ANGOTIC 2026, to be held from June 11 to 13, aims to remain a benchmark technological event not only in Africa, but throughout the world. The Minister was speaking during the launch of the 6th edition of ANGOTIC as the Angola International Forum on Information and Communication Technology, to be held under the motto "On the Road to Digital Transformation".

According to Angola Press News Agency, M¡rio Oliveira highlighted the strategic role of ANGOTIC as a meeting point for public and private decision-makers, experts, startups, telecommunications operators and representatives of the national and international technological ecosystem. He stressed that the event reinforces Angola's ambition to consolidate itself as an unavoidable communications hub in Africa, aligned with the challenges of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Free Trade Area, even in a global context marked by economic and geopolitical challenges.

He also recalled the "grand character" of the 2025 edition, integrated into the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of National Independence, even in a global context marked by economic and geopolitical challenges. The 5th edition registered more than 20,000 visitors, 117 national and foreign companies, including multinationals that participated for the first time, more than 180 startups, three thousand children impacted by educational activities, international transmission with visibility in SADC, through televisions from Namibia and Botswana, and more than 90% positive evaluation from participants.

According to M¡rio Oliveira, ANGOTIC 2026 will promote debate on the impact of ICTs, digitalization, artificial intelligence, and the use of data on citizens' lives. Projects such as Conect Angola, Angola Digital, and Angola Online were cited as examples of significant advances in the country in the sector.

The organization aims, once again, to attract high-level entities, industry leaders, and international experts to share experiences that can strengthen partnerships and boost private and public investment, always focusing on innovative technological solutions and robust and intelligent infrastructures. The Minister confirmed that the diamond, platinum, gold, and silver partnership levels will be maintained, with expanded criteria to ensure greater inclusion of digital startups, which have gained prominence in Angolan youth entrepreneurship.

In closing, he appealed to institutions and companies to join the event with "creative ideas on the path to digital transformation," transforming ANGOTIC 2026 into a unique moment of connection between technology, communication, culture, and tourism, reinforcing that the event "is no longer just about Angola and has become about the world." The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Paula de Oliveira, the Secretary of State for Social Communication, Nuno dos Anjos Caldas Albino, national directors, managers of public and private companies, as well as national and international guests.
