Namacunde: An entrepreneurship center, aimed at training young people in arts and crafts, was inaugurated this Thursday in the municipality of Namacunde, Cunene province. With a capacity to train 140 individuals in three annual training cycles, the center will initially focus on training women in sewing and tailoring and men in entrepreneurship.
According to Angola Press News Agency, the construction and equipping of the infrastructure, budgeted at 60,332,416,076 kwanzas, is part of the Integrated Program for Local Development and Poverty Reduction (PIDLCP). At the inauguration event, the Municipal Administrator of Namacunde, Cristiana Nameomuno, emphasized that the center will play a vital role in preparing young people to create self-employment opportunities.
Cristiana Nameomuno explained that the primary goal of the center is to promote a culture of female and youth entrepreneurship through comprehensive training programs. Beneficiaries will receive support with equipment after their training. Nameomuno also encouraged the beneficiaries to fully utilize the resources available at the center for their development and success.
The border municipality of Namacunde, adjacent to the Republic of Namibia, has a population of 86,056. The new center is expected to be a significant step in enhancing local entrepreneurship and reducing poverty in the region.
