Namibia Plans Strategic Investments in Hula Province

Luanda: The Namibian ambassador to Angola, Leonard Nangolo Ipumbu, announced that Namibia intends to initiate investments in strategic sectors within Hula province, starting in 2027. This announcement was made during a courtesy meeting with Hula's governor, Nuno Mahapi Dala.

According to Angola Press News Agency, the Namibian government plans to send a delegation of over 100 businesspeople to Hula to explore investment opportunities and establish connections with local counterparts. Although specific investment figures and commencement dates were not disclosed, the ambassador emphasized the goal of fostering economic exchange between the two nations.

A key aspect of this initiative is the Namibia-Angola business forum, designed to unite entrepreneurs from both countries to discuss cooperation opportunities. The forum will coincide with Expo-Hula, scheduled to open this Wednesday, offering a platform for entrepreneurs, including women, to form commercial partnerships.

Leonard Nangolo Ipumbu highlighted that Namibia's involvement goes beyond showcasing its own potential; it also seeks to learn from Angola's experiences and offerings, particularly in Hula. He stressed the importance of economic exchange in job creation and raw material processing.

The ambassador identified agriculture, tourism, health, and education as key sectors for potential partnerships, while also remaining open to other opportunities that may arise during the business meetings. He noted that Namibia can share valuable experiences in education, tourism, and health services with Angola.

Leonard Nangolo Ipumbu expressed pride in the longstanding friendship and cooperation between Angola and Namibia, advocating for deeper economic ties that could translate into tangible business projects. He views the upcoming visit by Namibian entrepreneurs as a chance to bridge the private sectors of both countries, fostering new investment initiatives.

The ambassador's expectation is that these interactions will result in successful partnerships, creating business opportunities, jobs, and enhanced development for both nations.
