National industry among sector’s priorities for 2023

Luanda – The Ministry of Industry and Commerce set the growth of the manufacturing industry and commerce as one of the top priorities of the sector for 2023.

According to the minister of Industry and Commerce, Victor Fernandes, these sectors reported levels of growth in 2022.

For 2023, he said, the goal is to stimulate the non-oil processing industry with a view to creating employment and a better participation in the generation of wealth for the country.

Speaking on the sidelines of the end-of-year greetings ceremony of the sector, Victor Fernandes said that after several years, Angola has been witnessing an upward trend in the national economy in 2022.

“We have the food processing industry as a top priority and we guarantee a business environment capable of attracting investment and which encourages businessmen to take over responsibility for job creation”, he said.

According to the minister, the food processing industry has particularly grown, an indication that the non-oil sector is showing progress, which is ideal for the development of a country.

As for the facility for obtaining the Commercial License, the minister said one can acquire this document from the municipalities, without needing to travel to the Ministry’s Headquarters, as part of the policy aimed to simplify the commercial activity.
