National Police Arrest 29 DRC Citizens for Border Violations in Angola

Luanda: At least 29 citizens of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) were arrested in the last seven days in the northern province of U­ge for attempting to illegally enter and stay in Angola.

According to Angola Press News Agency, a weekly report revealed that there were 20 cases of land and river border violations recorded during that period at the Kimbata, Sabango, Mbanza Nsoso (Maquela do Zombo), Cuilo (Cuango), Mucumbi, and Kimbuange (Massau) posts. This represents an increase of seven cases compared to the previous period.

The report indicated that the illegal immigrants were intercepted during a micro-operation and were headed for Luanda, Angola's capital. The operation led to the seizure of 360 liters of illuminating oil, which was intended for sale in the DRC.

Furthermore, the document highlighted that the police recorded thirteen road accidents in the same period-three more than in the previous period-resulting in one death and seventeen injuries.
