New Américo Boavida Hospital ready by 2025

Luanda – The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, said Thursday that the Américo Boavida hospital in Luanda would be rehabilitated in the next two or three years.

Last December, the health unit was visited by the Head of State who left guidelines for the start of rehabilitation and expansion work starting this month.

Founded in 1958, the hospital has for some years shown strong signs of degradation.

“In two or three years time we will have a new Hospital Américo Boavida,” said the President of the Republic, who was speaking to journalists from five national and foreign media outlets.

On the occasion, he regretted the fact that the Américo Boavida hospital has not yet been rehabilitated, despite having directed the execution of the works in 2018.
