New health units facilitate specialised care

Luanda – The construction and/or rehabilitation of specialised health units in the country has improved the service rendered to the patients who previously pursued assistance abroad.

The country, which benefitted from the construction, rehabilitation and expansion of a total of 79 health units, as of 2017, has recorded an increase in access to health services.

Of this range, the public dialysis services stand out, thus contributing to the reduction of costs and social problems and families break ups.

The service has come to respond to the cases of patients of the National Health Board assistance, with the reduction of medical evacuations, especially of patients with chronic kidney diseases.

The opening of the health centers made it possible to increase the capacity to provide a further 3,772 patients per week with medical assistance.

Patients can pursue the dialysis services in specialised hospital units in some country’s provinces.

They include Huíla province-based Central Hospital, David Bernardino Pediatric Hospital (Luanda), General Hospital of Moxico, Luanda General Hospital.

There are also in the provinces of Cabinda, Benguela, as well as at the Sol Hemodialysis Center, all equipped with cutting edge technology.

There are also Orthopedic and Physical Rehabilitation Centers in Gabela (Cuanza Sul), Negage (Uíge), Cuíto (Bié), Luena (Moxico), Menongue (Cuando Cubango), the Physical Rehabilitation Center of Huambo, the Dr. António Agostinho Neto (Former Orthopedic Center of Viana), and Physical Rehabilitation Center of Samba, in Luanda.
