OPEC basket price drops USD 2.54

According to the publication, on Thursday, of the OPEC Secretariat to which ANGOP had access, the price of the basket was 106.86 dollars per barrel on Tuesday.

The OPEC reference oil basket (ORB) is made up of Saharan Blend (Algeria), Sunflower (Angola), Djeno (Congo), Zafiro (Equatorial Guinea), Rabi Light (Gabon), Iran Heavy (Islamic Republic of Iran).

The list also includes Basrah Medium (Iraq), Kuwait Export (Kuwait), Es Sider (Libya), Bonny Light (Nigeria), Arab Light (Saudi Arabia), Murban (UAE) and Merey (Venezuela).

Girassol Field 20 years in action

The Girassol oil field, which is part of the OPEC’s 13 crudes list, completed, this Tuesday, the 12th, 20 years of operation.

Operated by France’s TotalEnergies, the field is located in the Atlantic Ocean and at the time of its discovery its total proven reserves were estimated at 700 million barrels of oil.

Currently, its production is centred on 200,000 barrels of oil per day (KPD).

On the occasion of the celebrations, the Minister of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas, Diamantino Azevedo, recognised the role that the Girassol oil field has played for the development of the sector in the national economy.

Quoted by the AngolanĀ  daily newspaper Jornal de Angola, Diamantino Azevedo considered Girassol as an important milestone both for the sector and for the country.
