Over 1,400 People Displaced by Heavy Rain in Moxico

Luena: Nearly 1,500 people have been displaced in Moxico province as a result of the destruction and flooding of more than 400 homes during the current rainy season, the Civil Protection and Firefighters (SPCB) spokesperson Guerra Evaristo said Thursday.

According to Angola Press News Agency, Guerra Evaristo stated that the destruction of homes is a consequence of the rains accompanied by winds that the region has experienced during this period. The municipalities of Lucusse, Luena, Camanongue L©ua, and Lutembo are the most affected regions.

In Luena, the province's capital, neighborhoods such as Zorr³, Mandenbwe, and Alto-Luena have been identified as the most impacted areas so far.
