Luanda: More than 600 national and foreign exhibitors will take part in the second edition of Expo Bengo 2026, to be held from 8 to 11 October at the Panguila market in Bengo Province. The announcement was made on Tuesday by the Bengo Provincial Vice-Governor for the Political, Social and Economic Sector, Jos© Francisco Bartolomeu Pedro, during the launch of the event.
According to Angola Press News Agency, Expo Bengo provides an opportunity to promote national production, bring producers and buyers closer together, and create new business opportunities for entrepreneurs in the province and across the country. The event also aims to promote entrepreneurship and boost local economic activity, with particular emphasis on the agribusiness, manufacturing, and mining sectors.
This year's edition will feature companies and institutions involved in trade, logistics and transport, metalworking, furniture and interior decoration, information and communication technologies, hospitality and tourism, food and beverages, banking and insurance, among other sectors. The administrator of C.Calas Eventos, Inocªncio Kipungo, said one of the fair's new features would be the preparation of 3 pavilions, including a larger one for companies in the industrial sector, in response to the space constraints experienced during the first edition.
The municipalities will also have a larger area for displaying agricultural products, machinery, equipment and other locally produced goods. Luanda is expected to be the province with the largest number of exhibitors, followed by Uge and Zaire, while the Democratic Republic of Congo, represented by a chocolate factory, will participate in Expo Bengo for the first time, alongside Serbia and China.
The event's organiser, C.Calas Eventos, plans to invest more than 500 million kwanzas in Expo Bengo 2026 and expects to generate a turnover exceeding the investment. Awards will also be presented in the categories of municipalities, agribusiness, agriculture, fisheries, livestock, mining and industry, among others. The first edition, held in 2025, brought together 355 exhibitors and created around 445 direct and 300 indirect jobs.
Approximately 200 tonnes of various products were also sold, generating an estimated turnover of 675 million kwanzas. For this year's edition, the Bengo Provincial Government aims to surpass the results previously achieved by increasing the number of exhibitors, turnover and employment opportunities, thereby strengthening Expo Bengo's role in promoting national production and the province's economic and social development.
