Over AKz 580 billion spent on PIIM

Luanda – The implementation of the portfolio of the Integrated Intervention Plan in Municipalities (PIIM) consumed 585 billion kwanzas in three years period.

The data were announced by the Secretary of State for Local Authorities, Márcio Daniel, when speaking to the press at the end of the 1st ordinary meeting of the Inter-ministerial Commission for the Implementation of the PIIM.

He said of the 2,665 projects in the country’s 18 provinces, 935 have been completed, while 556 have an execution above 77 percent.

At the beginning, Márcio Daniel said, the programme had a portfolio of 1,749 projects, 85 percent of which have been completed and others scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2023, stressing that the education and health sectors continue to have priority.

Education, he added, included 773 projects, with great prevalence for the construction of schools with seven classrooms, in a total of 365, with 12 classrooms.

In the field of health, 387 projects are registered, with a prevalence for health posts, health centers and municipal hospitals, he explained.
