PAC announces start of reimbursement as of May

Luanda – The reimbursement process of the credit granted to the real economy, by the Credit Support Programme (PAC), begins in May.

This was announced Tuesday in Luanda by the Secretary of State for the Economy Ivan Marques dos Santos, who was speaking to journalists at the briefing held by Ministry of Economy and Planning.

He said the Development Bank of Angola (BDA) has its own autonomy to create teams to monitor the implementation process.

“The BDA has its own autonomy and it will put the numbers that we would like to see and analyze, from jobs generated and the level of impact the funding had on the real economy”, he stressed.

Data released until December showed that the Development Bank of Angola (BDA) had approved, from January to November 2022, a total of 1,807 projects, of which 1,093 were financed with a disbursement of 45 billion kwanzas).

So far, 714 projects are awaiting refunding. And as for the overall number of approved projects, within the BDA portfolio, there was an increase of 49 processes comparing to the first week of November.

The Credit Support Project (PAC), included in the Production Support, Export Diversification and Import Replacement Programme (PRODESI), was restructured in 2022 to increase funding for projects that have had difficulty obtaining credit.
