Boucle du Mouhoun: The Deputy Director General of the National Police, Divisional Police Commissioner Bonswind© SANKARA, led a delegation to Gossina and Nimina in the Nayala province of the Boucle du Mouhoun region. The delegation’s purpose was to extend support and encouragement to members of the 11th Group of Mobile Intervention Units (GUMI) and the National Police detachment based in Nimina.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the delegation included the Director of the Intervention Units of the National Police and the Coordinator of Operations of the National Police. The visit took place on Friday, April 11, 2025, and aimed to recognize and commend the commitment of these forces in their effort to reclaim the national territory from terrorist threats. Commissioner SANKARA also addressed the concerns of the officers to enhance their operational capabilities.
Additionally, the Deputy Director General met with local Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP), praising their collaboration with the security forces in the efforts to restore peace and security across the nation. These meetings were part of the broader strategy to strengthen the resolve of all parties involved in the fight against terrorism and to ensure citizen safety.
