Zhengzhou: Journalists from Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, and So Tom© and Prncipe visited the Yutong Industrial Park in Zhengzhou, capital of China's Henan province, to learn about the production process, technological innovation, and sustainable development of the Chinese automotive industry. The visit was part of the Seminar on Development and Cooperation in Portuguese-Speaking Countries, hosted by the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China.
According to Angola Press News Agency, during their visit, the journalists engaged with a corporate video presentation at the Yutong Experience Center, which spans around 800 square meters. They also toured the park's main areas, including the assembly lines and the expansive bus testing ground, noted as the largest in China. The industrial park, covering 900,000 square meters, stands as a testament to the high-quality development, digitalization, and industrial intelligence that define the new Chinese economy.
Yutong currently boasts over 109,000 buses in operation, servicing governments and international conferences. The company achieved the status of the world's largest bus manufacturer in 2010. It made significant strides in innovation by completing the first public road demonstration of an autonomous bus in 2015 and ventured into the electric vehicle sector in 2021, supplying buses for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Yutong operates four factories dedicated to producing complete vehicles and consistently invests about 5 percent of its revenue into research and development annually.
