President analyses bilateral relations with UAE

Luanda – The Angolan Head of State, João Lourenço, spoke on the phone this Friday with the Crown Prince of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nayan, with whom he analysed the relations between the two countries.

The two entities spoke of the need to give continuity to the understandings reached during the recent visit of President João Lourenço to that Persian Gulf country.

In a statement, the Secretariat for Institutional Communication and Press Affairs of the President of the Republic said that João Lourenço took the opportunity to express the solidarity of the Angolan government and people with the people of the United Arab Emirates, following the attacks on Abu Dhabi airport, which occurred last Monday.

Finally, the Angolan statesman reiterated the invitation to the Crown Prince to visit Angola at the first opportunity.

The two countries cooperate in the oil and gas, mining, trade and investment, energy, defence, transport, agriculture, fishing, banking, telecommunications and finance and tax sectors.

Located in the Persian Gulf, the United Arab Emirates is a confederation formed by monarchies, each holding its own sovereignty, called emirates.
