Luanda: President Joo Lourenço awarded medals to high-ranking members of the Angolan National Police, as part of the celebrations of the corporation's 50th anniversary, which will be marked on February 28. According to Angola Press News Agency, the initiative is set to encompass more than a thousand officers through different ceremonies. The objective is to recognize the achievements and merits of members of the corporation who have distinguished themselves in guaranteeing constitutional order, maintaining public security, and tranquility. Their efforts in the prevention and fight against crime have significantly contributed to the preservation of social peace in the country. The distinctions are part of the Angolan National Police's decoration subsystem and include active duty, reserve, and posthumous members. They cover a wide range of ranks within the force, including commissioned officers, senior officers, junior officers, sub-chiefs, and canine units serving the corporation.
