President highlights diplomatic mission role

Luanda – Angolan head of State João Lourenço Tuesday in Luanda urged the members of diplomatic missions to be guided by professionalism and love for motherland, “always with focus on the country’s interests.

The president made the appeal at swearing-in ceremony of the Angolan ambassador to France Guilhermina Contreiras da Costa Prata and the director-general of the External Intelligence Service (SIE), Matias Bertino Matondo, appointed on 20 January.

According to João Lourenço, both functions, due to their similarity, should focus on the defence of the country’s interests beyond its borders.

“When we choose these entities we were aware that they would carry out this role with professionalism and love for the homeland, always mindful of the country’s interests,” stressed the President.

João Lourenço wished success to the newly appointed officials.

Guilhermina Contreiras da Costa Prata was MP of the National Assembly, minister of Justice and Vice President of the Constitutional Court.
