President João Lourenço congratulates Portugal on April 25

Luanda – The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, congratulated, this Monday, his Portuguese counterpart, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, on the celebration of the Carnation Revolution Day, which is celebrated today.

“I have the honor to congratulate the Portuguese people, government and Your Excellency, on behalf of the Angolan people, government and on my own for the celebration of the Day of the Carnation Revolution”, wrote the Angolan Head of State.

João Lourenço considered the occasion important, as it paved the way, in conjunction with the struggle of the peoples of the former colonies of Portugal, for the construction of the vibrant democracy that was implanted in the country, and for the rescue of the freedom and independence of those peoples.

“I am convinced that the ties that link our countries still dynamic and fruitful cooperation with each other, with strong prospects of continuously deepening, in the present and in the future, of relations between Angola and Portugal”, the president underlined.
