President João Lourenço leaves for United Arab Emirates

Luanda – Angolan president João Lourenço left Luanda Friday (20th) for Abu Dhabi, capital of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), for a two-day working visit.

At the “4 de Fevereiro” international airport, the Angolan Head of State received farewell greetings from the Vice President of the Republic Bornito de Sousa and senior executive officials.

According to the visiting programme, the President João Lourenço will have a working meeting on Friday with the new President of the United Arab Emirates, Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The Angolan Head of State returns to Luanda on Saturday.

Angola and UAE Cooperation

Angola and the United Arab Emirates cooperate in the oil and gas, mining, trade and investment, energy, defence, transport, agriculture, fisheries, banking, telecommunications and finance and tax sectors.

One of the outstanding examples of the participation of businessmen from the United Arab Emirates in the Angolan economy is the agricultural tractor assembly plant, located in the Special Economic Zone (ZEE), in the municipality of Viana, in Luanda.

The United Arab Emirates is a confederation formed by Arab monarchies, each holding its sovereignty, called emirates.

The seven emirates are Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm al-Quwain, Ras al-Khaimah and Fujeira.

The capital and second largest city of the United Arab Emirates is Abu Dhabi. The city is also the center of political, industrial and cultural activities.
