President Joo Louren§o Highlights Technology Park as an Academic Bridge

Luanda: President Joo Louren§o highlighted on Friday the role of the Luanda Science and Technology Park as an important meeting point between academia, scientific research, the business sector, and young entrepreneurs who wish to develop their startups. Speaking to the press at the end of the infrastructure's inauguration ceremony, the Head of State stressed that the project comes at an opportune moment for the country, at a time when economic and social development demands an ever-increasing focus on science, innovation, and technology.

According to Angola Press News Agency, President Joo Louren§o emphasized the investments made by the government in recent years in infrastructure construction and the training and recruitment of qualified personnel for the higher education and scientific research sector. He pointed out that the country must pay attention to science and technology for its development, highlighting that young people and companies will be the main beneficiaries of the Science and Technology Park.

The president noted that the government has decided to reinforce investments in higher education infrastructure, recognizing education as the foundation of national development. During his visit, Joo Louren§o announced plans for a future University Hospital expected to be operational in 2027. Additionally, he mentioned that the infrastructure for the Institute of Health Sciences, as well as the faculties of Medicine, Engineering, Sports, and Humanities, will be constructed in the same area.

The Luanda Science and Technology Park is viewed as a strategic platform for promoting innovation, scientific research, and youth entrepreneurship. It is expected to contribute to the diversification of the economy and the strengthening of the national technological ecosystem.
