Luanda: President Joo Louren§o on Friday in Luanda called on young Angolans living abroad to contribute to the country's development by offering their experience and knowledge to Angola's service. Speaking at the opening ceremony of the National Conference on Human Capital, Joo Louren§o stated that young people living abroad are an integral part of the national growth process and are called to play a key role in technology transfer and innovation.
According to Angola Press News Agency, Angola is committed to valuing human capital as a driver of development, and therefore relies on the involvement of all citizens, both within and outside the country, to build a more prosperous and inclusive society. He highlighted the Angolan diaspora as an invaluable source of knowledge, experience, and the dissemination of national culture across borders.
"Angola needs you. Your experience, your knowledge, and your commitment are an essential part of our development strategy," declared the President, emphasizing the need to create concrete mechanisms that facilitate the integration of Angolans living abroad into national projects. According to the President, this participation will accelerate innovation, strengthen technology transfer, and support the creation of a more inclusive and prosperous country.
Joo Louren§o emphasized that the Conference is not just an event, but a national appeal for all sectors. "I invite teachers, scientific researchers, managers, entrepreneurs, young people, and public and private institutions to actively engage in the discussions, because each of you brings valuable experiences and knowledge that can contribute to building a stronger and more capable Angola," he stated. He emphasized that every Angolan, regardless of gender, origin, or social status, should have the opportunity to contribute to the country's progress.
At the end of his speech, Joo Louren§o argued that Angola cannot wait, as the future depends on the decisions made today. "May this Conference be a reaffirmation of the values that led to our Independence in 1975: the construction of an Angola that believes in its people, invests in their talent, and builds, with courage and vision, the coming years of prosperity," he said. The Conference, which takes place in Luanda Bay until Saturday, brings together academics, businesspeople, civil society, and international partners, with discussions focused on training, qualifications, and the integration of professionals into the job market.
