President Joo Lourenço Visits Newly Established Cuando Province

Cuando: President Joo Lourenço arrived Tuesday in the province of Cuando, one of the three newly created provinces, following the recent Political-Administrative Division in Angola. Upon his arrival, the Angolan Head of State received a welcome from the provincial governor of Cuando, Lúcio Amaral, and hundreds of people. According to Angola Press News Agency, after visiting Moxico Leste, Cuando is the second new province to host the President. He departed in the early hours for the town of Mavinga, the administrative center of Cuando. A delegation of several ministers and central administration officials accompanies the President in an effort to assess the requirements for establishing the new territorial unit. The visit's program primarily features direct engagement with the planned site for the future city of Mavinga, which is set to become the capital of Cuando. This includes planning for essential infrastructure, from the government palace to various facilities needed to ensure the smooth operation of a city. During his visit, President Joo Lourenço will also meet with local figures and preside over a meeting with the local government, further underscoring his commitment to the development of this newly formed province.
