PRESIDENT LEAVES FOR SCOTLAND SATURDAY TO ATTEND COP26

Luanda – Angolan president João Lourenço leaves Saturday for Scottish city of Glasgow to attend the 26th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26).

João Lourenço is expected to address the event, as will other political leaders present in Scotland during the next week.

According to the Civil Affairs Office to the President of the Republic, the statesman programme also covers diplomatic agenda of meetings with relevant political personalities.

The 26th edition of the COP (United Nations Climate Change Conference) will be held between October 31 and November 12.

The meeting, which will bring together leaders from 196 countries, is crucial for controlling climate change.
