President unveils National Electoral Commission headquarters

Luanda – Angolan head of State João Lourenço inaugurated Thursday in Luanda the new premises housing the National Electoral Commission (CNE), estimated at more than US$44 million.

The new facilities are located between Rua dos Coqueiros and the former Calçada Baltazar de Aragão and consist of four floors.

The building, whose construction works began in September 2020, is named after Margaret Anstee, a British diplomat who was in Angola in 1992, on behalf of the UN Secretary General, to supervise the first elections held in that year.
