Luanda: The tourism promotion initiative 'Let's Get to Know Angola', originally launched by the digital platform Hoteisangola.com amidst the Covid-19 pandemic, is slated for a relaunch in January 2026. Initially created in 2020, the project aims to rejuvenate national tourism, which was heavily impacted during the global travel restrictions.
According to Angola Press News Agency, the project will reintroduce a Business to Business (B2B) platform, focusing on fostering dialogue among tourism sector stakeholders and promoting Angola's diverse offerings. The initial phase, carried out in 2020, utilized thematic webinars to engage tour operators, travel agents, and industry professionals, highlighting the country's regions and tourism potential.
The project not only served a promotional purpose but also became a hub for debate on the challenges facing Angola's tourism sector. Discussions centered on enhancing the nation's position as a tourist destination and aligning the industry with market demands.
In 2026, the initiative is expected to expand its reach and impact. Jorge Nunes, the project's promoter, emphasized maintaining its core mission to showcase Angola. The enhanced B2B platform will aim to connect local operators, international buyers, and other stakeholders to promote existing tourism products, forge partnerships, and establish ongoing communication channels.
Nunes highlighted the project's role in elevating Angola's profile as a tourist destination and its function as a continuous forum for industry dialogue. Additionally, it will support new products and initiatives like gastronomic stories, books, and technical materials, reflecting the maturing Angolan tourism market and its development potential.
