Mbanza kongo: At least 3,597 projects were registered in the Public Investment Program (PIP) in the first quarter of 2026, indicates the report of the 1st meeting of the Local Governance Council, chaired by President Joo Louren§o, on Thursday, in Mbanza Kongo, northern Zaire province. The report states that 988 belong to the Central Administration Bodies and 2,609 to the Local Administration Bodies of the State.
According to Angola Press News Agency, the accumulated physical execution of the PIP, up to the end of the first quarter, had 473 completed projects, with an executed budget of Kz 5.1 billion, with expenses settled in the amount of 1.7 billion kwanzas corresponding to a financial execution rate of 33.7%, reflecting a positive performance compared to the same period last year.
The document highlights that among the main results achieved are the construction, rehabilitation, and completion of schools, alongside the building and modernization of hospitals, health centers, and clinics. The report also emphasizes the rehabilitation of roads, the implementation of dams, and energy generation systems, contributing to energy security and water supply.
