Revenue Between Angola and China Reaches USD 20.8 Billion

Luanda: Chinese Ambassador to Angola Zhang Bin reported on Tuesday in the city of Uge that trade volume between Angola and China reached US$20.8 billion. The Chinese diplomat, who shared this information with the press after a meeting with the local governor, Jos© Carvalho da Rocha, said that Angola is China's fourth-largest trading partner.

According to Angola Press News Agency, the ambassador noted promising prospects for future cooperation between the two nations to improve relations. During the meeting with the governor of Uge, areas of cooperation were defined, with emphasis on agriculture, mining, vocational training, and poverty eradication. Zhang Bin mentioned that China plans to further strengthen cooperation with Angola and encourage more investors to visit Uge province.

Zhang Bin expressed hope that his visit would attract more Chinese businesspeople to the province, highlighting that cooperation relations between Angola and China are strategic and cover several areas, including the economy, trade, infrastructure, training, and investment. China plays a significant role as a partner for Angola, particularly in infrastructure investments and training Angolan professionals.

In response, Jos© Carvalho da Rocha, the provincial governor of Uge, emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation in vocational training, agriculture, tourism, and the mining sector. He acknowledged that the local provincial government cannot achieve the desired development in various social and economic areas alone, underscoring the need for cooperation with other partners.

Governor Jos© Carvalho da Rocha also expressed interest in attracting Chinese companies to the region. He views their presence as essential for developing a commercial project on the border between Angola and the DRC (Kimbata), in the municipality of Maquela do Zombo. He reiterated the need for international support to develop various projects and increase human capital in the region.

During his visit to Uge Province, Ambassador Zhang Bin toured the Mavoio mining project in Maquela do Zombo. The delegation included the general and deputy directors of the CRBC company in Angola, Wang Dong and Zhang Long Tei, respectively, among other officials from the Chinese Embassy in Angola.
