Roller Hockey: Angola and Mozambique clash in world cup

Luanda – Angola senior men’s roller hockey team face Mozambique on Monday in the first round of group B of the Roller Hockey World Cup taking place in San Juan, Argentina.

The match is a “replay” of the final of the African Championship when the two national teams played for the last time in Luanda, in 2019, in which Angola won 5-2.

Previously, in 2017, in Nanjing, Angola won 6-3 a match for the fifth position in the world cup.

In 2011, in San Juan, Angola lost 4-3 in the group stage. In that competition Mozambique achieved the unprecedented fifth place.

Mozambique and Angola are seeking to progress to the next stage along with other opponents, Spain and Argentina.

The top three teams in each group qualify for the quarter-finals.

The last from each group play for the 5th to 8th places.

Portugal are the defending champions.

Mozambique-Angola and Argentina-Spain

2nd round – Spain-Mozambique and Angola-Argentina
