Uige: Since December 2025, over 40,000 students from the municipalities of Songo and Sanza Pombo in the province of Uige have benefited from the National School Feeding Program (PNAE). The program was approved by Presidential Decree No. 83/25 on April 15. The program aims to provide elementary school children with nutritious meals, thereby improving their academic performance, reducing dropout rates, and strengthening food security.

According to Angola Press News Agency, on Friday, Ibraim Sungo, the municipal director of education in Songo, stated that the school feeding program launched on December 1, 2025, covered more than 25,000 students. Sungo mentioned that the municipality has about 35 registered schools and that six companies are responsible for distributing food. Regarding the food served to students, Sungo said it varies between feijoada (a Brazilian black bean stew), pasta with beans, and natural baobab fruit juice.

The municipal director of education in Sanza Pombo, Marques Canga, said the program covers the entire municipality and has approximately 52 registered elementary schools. He did not cite the number of companies involved, but said that more than 21,000 students in the area have benefited from the program since January 12 of this year.
