Senegal commends Angola for promoting development

Luanda – The President of Senegal, Macky Sall, this Wednesday commended his Angolan counterpart, João Lourenço, for his commitment to the promotion of development and the improvement of citizens’ livelihood, as well as to continental stability.

Macky Sall made such statement in Luanda, at the garden of the Presidential Palace, when speaking to the press in the ambit of his 72-hour state visit to Angola, which started this Wednesday.

The Senegalese statesman came to Angola at the invitation of President João Lourenço, who welcomed him in his official residence.

Macky Sall stated that there is a convergence of ideas about the need to elevate the politico-diplomatic relations, strengthen the co-operation in trade and investments through the conclusion of agreements.

He also expressed his country’s interest in sharing experiences with Angola in key areas of economic and social development.

The Senegalese Head of State, who is also the Acting Chairman of the African Union, defended also the elimination of barriers linked to borders, ideologies and language in intra-Africa co-operation.

Macky Sall deemed it essential for African leaderships to effectively materialise the plans for the benefit of the people.
