Cuanza-sul: The Criminal Investigation Service (SIC) in the province of Cuanza-Sul has detained a national citizen accused of the theft of electrical material essential for supporting medium and high-voltage pylon towers.
According to Angola Press News Agency, the stolen items include 36 steel angle bars that are the property of the national companies ENDE (National Electricity Distribution Company) and RNT (National Electricity Transmission Network). The arrest was announced by Criminal Investigation Inspector Amorim Silveira, the spokesman for SIC in Cuanza-Sul, who highlighted that the apprehension was a result of meticulous criminal intelligence efforts.
During the operation, investigators not only seized the 36 metallic angle bars but also discovered that the suspect had confessed to using part of the stolen material to construct beds for personal use. The investigation is still underway, aimed at identifying any possible accomplices and locating the remaining stolen materials.
