SIC Arrests Citizen with Two Tons of ‘Cannabis’

Malanje: A 35-year-old Angolan citizen was arrested on Saturday in northern Malanje province by the Criminal Investigation Service (SIC) while allegedly attempting to smuggle two tons of "cannabis" to the country's capital, Luanda, for sale. According to Angola Press News Agency, Alexandre Cambolo, SIC spokesperson, stated that the suspect involved in the crime of possession, trafficking, and sale of the drug was caught with the product packaged in several 50-kilogram bags. The product, which came from the municipality of Cambundi-Catembo, was to be sold in Luanda at a price of 50,000 kwanzas per bag. In another operation, the Criminal Investigation Service also arrested a 26-year-old national, involved in the sexual abuse of a 15-year-old girl, which occurred in the Maxinde neighborhood, on the outskirts of the city of Malanje. According to the spokesperson, it all happened when the rapist, acting as a neighbor, forcibly took the victim to his home under threat and raped her.
