Zaire: At least 1,350 kilograms of marijuana were seized last weekend in the Mpala commune (N³qui) by the Criminal Investigation Service (SIC) in Zaire province.
According to Angola Press News Agency, SIC spokesperson Jos© Bernardo Bebeto stated that the product was seized following a small operation conducted by SIC officers in the village of Mpozo, located in the municipality of N³qui.
Bebeto explained that the marijuana was discovered in bags stored inside a hut belonging to a local national. The individual was arrested for possession, sale, and cultivation of the drug. The operation also led to the seizure of a shotgun-type firearm, which was illegally in the possession of the detained citizen.
Jos© Bernardo Bebeto emphasized that similar operations will continue in an effort to discourage the cultivation and sale of marijuana in various parts of Zaire province. The arrest and seizures are part of a broader initiative by the SIC to combat drug trafficking and related crimes in the region.
