Luanda: The Spaniard Ricardo Gonz¡lez da Villa is the new head coach of Interclube's senior men's basketball team. The 54-year-old is already in Angola.
According to Angola Press News Agency, Gonz¡lez da Villa joins Interclube with over 30 years of experience, more than 15 of which have been spent at the highest competitive levels, as announced by the club on its official Facebook page. He succeeds the Angolan coach Apolin¡rio Paquete.
Gonz¡lez da Villa, also known as "Gonz¡lez Richi," brings a consolidated international career to the table. He boasts experience in various leagues and FIBA competitions, having managed both men's and women's teams as well as national sides. His career highlights include winning several championships in Spain and working with the Chilean Women's National Teams. Most recently, he served at CDC Los Leones in Chile's premier basketball league.
A specialist in tactics, talent development, and leadership, Gonz¡lez da Villa has been brought in to leverage his extensive experience and strategic acumen in service of Interclube's objectives for the upcoming season. Beyond the Luanda Provincial Championship, he will also be tasked with leading the team in the Angola Cup and National Championship.
