Tunis: A regional workshop on the establishment of a regional knowledge hub for North Africa, organised by the African Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC), is taking place on May 13 and 14 in Tunis.
The workshop aims to create a platform for the collection of health information and data relevant to the needs of African Union Member States.
Inaugurating the workshop Monday, Minister of Health, Ali Mrabet, stressed the importance of establishing this platform, which will strengthen the capacity of health institutions and systems in North Africa and the African continent in general to respond effectively to health threats and emergencies.
He reiterated Tunisia’s willingness to participate in all initiatives aimed at protecting public health in Africa.
The workshop brings together experts and specialists from a number of North African countries and Tunisia, represented by experts from a number of relevant ministries and structures.
